To combat a surge in poaching and wildlife smuggling in Asia and Africa, conservationists and police are turning to methods long reserved for homicides, sexual assaults, and other human crimes. DNA sequencing, fingerprint analysis, infrared imaging to detect blood, ballistics tests, and additional scientific techniques have been utilized with success against miscreants ranging from pangolin poachers in Zimbabwe to peregrine-nest raiders in Scotland. As poachers and traffickers adapt and laws tighten, forensic science is helping tip the balance in favor of endangered species. I am a Wildlife and landscape photographer and nature lover. Reasons why I ask people to not post the exact location of wild animals when they see them or take a photograph of them. Poachers would take that information to find the animal. There are poachers who form social media groups pretending to be photographers just to get that type of information. One such group was found and charged in the US recently. So, I beg folks again to please do not give the exact location of the animals.

It would be good if every single person took a moment to reflect and stopped buying fur, leather, especially from endangered animals. If there were no demand, poaching would stop too. People need to start protecting nature more seriously. It all starts with us.

Total protección a las especies, es su derecho a la vida, a quién incumpla le debe caer todo el peso de la ley.

I'll never get why people think it's ok to do this. These pictures are horrifying. Why would anybody want that in their homes? Or use it as an ingredient? It's disgusting. Leave the animals alone.

Chaos Is A Ladder Although leopards are well versed in the art of the ambush, even they are unable to pick off an antelope without upgrading the entire herd from calm to threat level midnight in a split second. Sometimes you gotta think this is part of the plan, and sometimes it's just the unavoidable cost of doing business. Either way, the leopard cares not as long as he gets what he came for, and if that means becoming an agent of chaos to suit his own end, then so be it. Now, leaping nearly two meters off the ground in an attempt to accomplish his task was always a possibility, as plans are only good until the panic starts, but to be successful in such spectacular fashion - lets just say we should be happy people were there to document this. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nature Is Metal is powered by you!
