Megs Senk (@megsnotplural), an advertising art director, and George Korsnick (@sleepy.soups), a software developer, had spent four years in Maine recalibrating their lives after years hustling in bigger cities. Then they leased the ground floor of a creaky historic structure in the center of town and got to work. They named it St. George Pizza (@st_george_pizza), after the river that runs through Warren—and right near their shop’s front door. What started as a fantasy, a place to simplify life and make things by hand, and a safety net beyond careers being demolished by AI, has quickly become a community cornerstone. Tour the space and read their story at the link in our bio. Photography by @tararicephoto; words by @zoesessums

Let’s not romanticize the grueling and high risk endeavor of owning and running a restaurant as a ‘safety net’ for AI taking our jobs. Though I guess I should expect this sort of fantasy from this outlet 🙄.

Good grief, what a dream! Love love love the exterior paint job and flag. Who wouldn’t come to a screeching stop right in front to get pizza at that darling restaurant?

Small independently owned restaurants much like this are quite literally all over Maine. That’s the beauty of the small towns up and down the coast of Maine.
