Urban trees have the power to cool our cities during heatwaves. Here’s how it works: if you step outside during a heatwave, you’ll notice a significant difference in temperature between streets with tree cover and those with bare pavement exposed to the sun. That’s because trees provide shade and release moisture into the air, cooling their surroundings. In fact, studies show that #tree cover in cities can reduce air temperatures by up to 8°C and land surface temperatures by up to 12°C. As urban areas around the world face record-breaking heat, we must recognize trees as a natural solution to help mitigate the effects of heatwaves. #architectanddesign

In essence, humans cannot be separated from nature, architecture is allowed to grow on the condition that it does not eliminate the function of nature, if that happens then humans will lose part of their life

Yep. Two weeks ago on my way somewhere I was walking down a busy road and there weren't any trees and it was hot as hell. On my way back I used a residential road that had lots of trees and the difference was staggering.

💚 I've read in many books that the view of urban designers like "Emma Clark" is to plant fruit trees instead of non-fruit trees.
