Architectural
“The first time we visited it didn’t feel like anyone had ever really lived there and loved it and embraced it,” says Studio Manifold cofounder and co-director Morgan Novy of the 1986 John Pizzey home in the Yarra Valley she and her partner, Lachlan Cooper, were hired to carefully restore. Still, the 4,575-square-foot Oregon timber, stone, and glass abode designed by a protege of prominent midcentury Australian architect Alistair Knox held plenty of magic, not only within its sturdy walls but beyond them, to views of rolling bushland and vineyards. The owners, Andrew and Tiff Percy, had returned to their native Melbourne from Utah and “stumbled across this property an hour drive from the city, in the Yarra Valley, which is a wine region here that’s really beautiful,” says Cooper.
