This push for a “futuristic” 3D Bitmoji style is actually setting Bitmoji back in time. Instead of evolving, it’s stripping away the charm, personality, and relatability that made Bitmoji such an important part of digital communication. The new avatars look awkward, scary, poorly shaded, and fall deep into the uncanny valley. Honestly, they resemble cheap early 2000s animation… but are genuinely way worse. 😬 ⁣ Not everyone wants their Bitmoji to look like a clunky VR character for a metaverse they never signed up for. If some users enjoy the 3D style, great, but forcing it on everyone is ruining the experience. Even professionals, like teachers, used the classic Bitmoji in their work, and this version is completely unsuitable for those settings.⁣ ⁣ A real step forward would be giving users the choice to pick the Bitmoji style that best represents them, just like Snapchat did in the past. At this point, many of us would even be willing to pay for that choice, though we shouldn’t have to. Stop ignoring your community and give us the option to switch back! #BringBackClassicBitmoji
