Each month in 2025, r/VintageDigitalCameras is focusing in on a new photography challenge for its community members to win a camera, funded by Reddit’s Community Funds program.
May’s theme? Portraits, featuring humans, pets, and the occasional scene-stealing turtle.
Here's what mod u/thevmcampos says about the nostalgic community: "If you haven't heard by now, vintage digital cameras (also known as digicams) are back! The younger generation is ditching pixel-perfect phone camera shots and dabbling in the early 2000s aesthetic of low-megapixel photography. The older generation is dusting off their neglected cameras and using them anew, forgoing all the distractions that modern tech imposes.
Our community, r/VintageDigitalCameras, is the largest sub all about the hobby on Reddit. We've gone from less than 200 members to over 24,000 members in just two years!"
