Snapchat, listen to your users! The 3D Bitmoji update is a huge downgrade, and forcing it on everyone is ruining the experience. The new avatars look awkward, unnatural, and fall straight into the uncanny valley with their poor shading, stiff animations, and inaccurate proportions. They don’t capture people’s likeness the way the classic 2D Bitmoji did, making self-representation frustrating and unrelatable. Not everyone wants their Bitmoji to look like a clunky VR character for a metaverse they never asked to be part of. Bitmoji is a major part of communication on Snapchat, and we should have the choice to use the style that best represents us. Even professionals, like teachers, used the classic Bitmoji in their work, and this new version is completely unsuitable for those settings. If some people prefer the 3D version, fine, but forcing it on everyone is the problem. At this point, many of us would even be willing to pay for the option to switch back, though we shouldn’t have to. Stop ignoring your users and bring back the ability to choose our Bitmoji style! #BringBackClassicBitmoji
