In 1914, Xu Shiying, then Chief Provincial Administrator of #fujian , brought back softwood slice Christmas cards from #europe gave them to the Fujian Craft Training Institute. Inspired, woodcarver Chen Chunrun used imported cork to create softwood carvings, blending Chinese and Western art. Years later, photographer #chenman featured softwood carvings in #Musemagazine 2012, #zhaoliying wore a softwood carving headpiece in a shoot, continuing this cultural exchange. This art form keeps bridging cultures across time. @musemagazine
