⛓️Etherea by @edoardotresoldiofficial is a large-scale installation first exhibited at Coachella 2018, composed of three wire mesh structures inspired by baroque and neoclassical architecture. Each volume shares the same form but differs in scale, ranging from 36 to 72 feet in height, arranged in a basilica-like configuration. The installation was constructed using more than 500 rolls of 25x25 mm wire mesh, each 25 meters long and 1 meter high. The transparency of the material allows natural light to pass through, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow throughout the day. At night, integrated artificial lighting transforms the structures, emphasizing their spatial qualities and enhancing the viewer’s experience. The work explores the intersection of architecture, landscape, and human perception, inviting reflection on scale, presence, and transparency. By varying the dimensions of the three structures, Etherea manipulates spatial perception, altering the relationship between the viewer and the surrounding environment. Described by Tresoldi as “a space where sky and clouds are narrated in the language of classical architecture,” the installation establishes a dialogue between the built and natural worlds.
