from personal experience, when i was about 9/10 my grandpa got put on one of these types of medications. He went from working everyday, going on runs and hikes and being able bodied to not even being able to crawl up the stairs in a matter of days. as soon as my mom got him to a doctor and they switched to him going back to what he was originally taking for his heart he went back to normal almost immediately.
