Vacation time! I love traveling with Sophie and going on vacation. We’re going to spend most of the time in Germany, but maaaybe also head into France, not sure yet, we haven’t decided and it’s a fantastic way to travel. Here is a collection of some of my photos from Germany, France, Austria and I think one from Italy also snuck in there. I have plans with the camera, mostly after the vacation time in the same area. The incredible and beautiful S(love)nia. Over the past couple of years I’ve captured some of my favourite photos of all time in this small European country. All the small churches makes for amazing subjects, but there are so much more to photograph. Waterfalls, forests, mountains, lakes, wildlife and so on. It was a beautiful and calm night I had on Omø. Photographing the yellow lighthouse during the blue hour was my main goal. The sun only dipped a few degrees below the horizon, so I had blue hour all night, but it was dark enough to capture the beams from the lighthouse on a few shots 🤩 Blue hour is such a special time for photography, especially when you can combine it with artificial light. Can’t wait to get back to the Dolomites this coming September! Because of a late cancellation we actually have one spot open for the workshop. There are just so many epic views and fantastic vistas! I was so incredibly lucky to get a bit of low morning fog during the pre-sunrise blue hour when I visited Omø to photograph the lighthouse. I absolutely love the calmness in these photos, which of course makes them less likely to be liked on Instagram, but some of them are definitely gonna make it to my favourite photos of the year book. I’m super excited over releasing my brand new video where I visit a location I’ve wanted to photograph for years! This gorgeous yellow lighthouse located on a small island in Denmark. I spend and afternoon, evening, night, blue hour and sunrise there and captured and finished editing 35 photos! One of the biggest surprises and most incredible places we visited on my big landscape photography trip to the US is Death Valley. The abundance of incredible landscape photography with the clear night skies you can get here is awe-inspiring. It’s without a doubt one of the locations in the world I’d most like to revisit! There are so many option for finding great compositions like leading lines, depth, repeating patterns and scale! All compositional tools I cover in my ebook on composition in landscape photography.
