In the beginning there was a lot of ambition but no plan. I was 19 and I quit my job to pursue surf photography but had no clue where to start… so I would stand atop the Pismo pier shooting expired film of random people out in the lineup then chase em down the beach when they got out to see if they wanted to buy a photo… a seemingly desperate way to enter the business, but I was filled with passion and a desire to grow. Since then - my camera setup has majorly improved but I still like to carry around a 35mm point & shoot that reminds of those days & sometimes results in my favorite images from trips. @negativelab has been handling all of our scans lately and I’ve been appreciating the craft that goes into that.
