While driving down a road in Arizona, @jb_martineau came across a giant desert centipede eating a western diamondback rattlesnake that was recently hit by a car. For an insect that usually dines on other insects and small vertebrates like lizards and mice, coming across a huge score like this is like winning a weird type of lottery where you get to eat roadkill. Sure, there's a risk of itself becoming roadkill also, but the rewards in this instance outweigh the potentially disastrous outcome of laying right next to this rattler in death. Taking calories in without spending calories is always a bonus in the wild. It might not set the fortunate one up for life, but it's a step in the right direction for sure, since tomorrow does not guarantee anything. There is always a risk that the hunter will spend too many calories in search of something to restock them, and fail. This is the worst case scenario, as it increases desperation and irrationality. Fortunately, this is not the case here. This creepy bastard will definitely see another sunrise. Did you know that the first set of legs on a giant centipede are not used for walking, but are specialized appendages called forcipules that are basically giant fangs used to inject venom? Sure, that's cool as hell, but it's also creepy to think about venomous “legs” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nature Is Metal is powered by you! The roadside scenery on the ive field parkway is second to none. It’s hard to drive on the road simply because the environment is so distracting. Every turn if filled with new views the entire way. • • • 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐲 ➩ @tylerwayneglass ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ #canada #earth #beautifuldestinations #travel #alberta

🇮🇹🛵🍇🌻 Road tripping through Tuscany was such a dream! Every town we visited had so much charm and beauty, with Montepulciano probably being my favorite. We also spent time in the Arezzo countryside (first picture), which was gorgeous! I would 100% go back to Tuscany and explore more. Where should I put on my bucket list? #tuscanyguide #italytravel | where to visit in Tuscany, Tuscany itinerary, Italy travel guide, Italy itinerary, best towns in Tuscany, Tuscany road trip

Vacation time! I love traveling with Sophie and going on vacation. We’re going to spend most of the time in Germany, but maaaybe also head into France, not sure yet, we haven’t decided and it’s a fantastic way to travel. Here is a collection of some of my photos from Germany, France, Austria and I think one from Italy also snuck in there. I have plans with the camera, mostly after the vacation time in the same area. Hoping for great light and moody clouds 😁 The good thing is you can get good photos in almost all conditions and if you wanna learn how to use the light to your benefit be sure to get my ebook on light in landscape photography. With 251 pages, tons of examples, minimal text and extended EXIF data there is sooo much to learn! There is a link in my bio. Happy learning 🤓

You didn’t come to New York to wander fluorescent aisles hunting for someone to unlock the fitting room. You came for the locked-door city — where nothing’s labeled, the elevator grumbles and whoever buzzes you in has already decided how the afternoon should go. But these shops aren’t retail — it’s an invitation-only obsession. And if you knock with purpose, that helps. Brussels, the Belgian capital has the largest share of young citizens in the European Union, followed by Paris and Dublin. Much like the French capital, the city has embarked on an ambitious pedestrianization project, recently closing more of the streets around the historic Grand-Place to cars, while also expanding public transportation, making it very easy to get around. Foreign nationals make up more than 40% of the city’s population. That worldliness informs Brussels’s array of attractions, from creative cafes and genre-defining restaurants to intimate galleries and mind-bending museums of fine art.
