Our week here in the remote backcountry of Alaska has been nothing short of extraordinary. We’ve hiked over 10 miles a day, surrounded by coastal brown bears in one of the wildest, most breathtaking landscapes on earth. From nursing spring cubs tucked close to momma bears, to bold yearlings, playful “teen” bears wrestling, and massive dominant males, this place has given us front-row seats to the raw beauty and behavior of these incredible animals. We’ve watched bears fish flounder in glacier-fed rivers, dig up clams in the tidal flats, and roam an island only accessible at low tide, home to jaw-dropping rock formations and a surprising number of bears. Wolf tracks crisscrossed our paths all week, and on our final day, two wolves, one an unforgettable white wolf with piercing yellow eyes, graced us with their presence. We fell asleep each night to the sound of ocean waves, and woke up to views that left us speechless. But more than the beauty and adventure, this place gave us perspective. It taught us. It moved us. We didn’t come just to experience the wild, we came with a mission. Just beyond these ridges, bears like the ones we’ve spent the week with are being gunned down from helicopters. Alaska Fish & Game has launched an aerial slaughter targeting mothers and cubs, under the guise of predator control. It’s brutal, it’s heartbreaking, and it’s happening now. We’re here to tell their stories, to share not only the magic of this wild place, but also the truth of what’s being lost. These bears deserve better. They deserve protection. And we will never stop being a voice for them. Thank you for following along with us this week. Please don’t look away. Stay engaged. Speak up. Tag @alaskafishandgame, @govdunleavy, @marypeltola and other local representatives. Let’s shed light on what’s happening and fight for the wild places and wild lives that cannot fight for themselves. We are forever grateful for what these bears have given us. Let’s return the gift. 🐻🫶🏼 #Alaska #Katmai #BrownBears #GrizzlyBear #BearGuide #BearViewing #BearWatching #BearPhotography #WildlifePhotography #wildlifeconservation #conservationphotography

Thank you for everything you do for the animals I wish we could get a court order to stop those people from shooting the bears . I am so upset 😭 and don’t know what to do. Who are your Senators and Congressman or women?
