To slow down glacial melt, giant white blankets are laid out each summer across the ice, reflecting sunlight and reducing melt by up to 60%. But this is not a sustainable solution. These protective covers are heavy, expensive, and over time, they can release microplastics under intense UV exposure. A short-term fix for a long-term crisis. How can we truly protect our glaciers? Elles réfléchissent la lumière du soleil et peuvent réduire la fonte jusqu’à 60 %. Mais ce n’est pas une solution durable.
