I would show you a close-up of these prints, but I’m not allowed to. I recently had the chance to visit the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona, and it was one of the coolest photographic experiences I’ve ever had. This place is a massive archive of photography—negatives, contact sheets, cameras, letters, notebooks—preserving the legacies of some of the greatest image-makers in history. When I arrived, they had a table full of historic cameras and light meters waiting for me—some of them once belonged to Ansel Adams. Not replicas. His actual gear. And then came the real moment: viewing original Ansel Adams prints. Being in the presence of that work, up close, was humbling. These small changes can guide the viewer’s attention and enhance the emotional resonance of your work. 7) While consistency helps establish a recognizable style, I remain open to growth and change.
