96 hours. Countless locations. Thousands of shots. And in the end? One single moment that tells it all. 📷🏙️ Together with @leica_camera_schweiz, we invited New York photographer @philpenman to Biel/Bienne — in search of exactly those moments. Scenes you can’t plan. Only feel. What remains is more than just a photograph. It’s an exhibition. A story. And a view of Biel/Bienne seen like no one else sees it — through the lens of Phil Penman. Coming soon: Phil’s exhibition at @bielerfototage 2025 — printed by WhiteWall #PhilPenman #BielBienne #Leica #LeicaCamera #LeicaSwitzerland #BielerFototage #Exhibition #PhotographyFestival #WhiteWall #WhiteWall_lab

‘Madrone Bark, Santa Cruz Mountains, California,’ 1932. Photograph by Ansel Adams. This beautiful botanical study is reproduced in our book ‘Ansel Adams: 400 Photographs’ (@littlebrown), which showcases the full spectrum of Ansel's work in a single volume—the largest available compilation from his legendary career.

I would show you a close-up of these prints, but I’m not allowed to. I recently had the chance to visit the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona, and it was one of the coolest photographic experiences I’ve ever had. This place is a massive archive of photography—negatives, contact sheets, cameras, letters, notebooks—preserving the legacies of some of the greatest image-makers in history. When I arrived, they had a table full of historic cameras and light meters waiting for me—some of them once belonged to Ansel Adams. Not replicas. His actual gear. And then came the real moment: viewing original Ansel Adams prints. Being in the presence of that work, up close, was humbling. The CCP also houses the Volkerding Study Center, where you can flip through photography books or even request negatives from specific photographers to study their work. #film #photography #filmphotography #AnselAdams #CenterForCreativePhotography #AnalogArchive #ad

Seven essential strategies to mastering your visual style! Discover @mikita.yo’s expert tips below, and comment “Tips” for a link to watch his full tutorial on YouTube to elevate your color grading, including preset creation, LUTs, and professional techniques! 🎨 #ColorProWithMe #TalksMini “Over a decade ago, I began my photography journey in black and white. As I evolved, the transformative power of light became central to my creative expression. Studying other creators and understanding color theory helped me develop a style that resonates with my vision. Here are seven essential strategies that have guided me in crafting a distinctive voice: 1) Starting with black and white photography helped me focus solely on composition. By removing color, I could concentrate on shapes, lines, and contrasts, laying a solid foundation for my photographic journey. 2) After refining my composition skills, I turned to color to deepen the narratives in my images. Nature’s diverse landscapes inspired me with vibrant palettes that evoke emotion. 3) I analyzed the work of photographers I admired, noting what made their styles distinctive. This exercise helped me understand various techniques and encouraged me to experiment with my approach. 4) Lighting is crucial in photography. As an exercise, try photographing exclusively during golden or blue hours. The soft, natural light during these times enhances colors and mood, helping you achieve consistency in your work. 5) With a background in visual design, I learned how colors evoke specific emotions. Warm tones like red and orange convey energy and happiness, while cooler tones like blue and gray can create a moody atmosphere. 6) Subtle adjustments, like desaturating certain colors, can significantly impact the feel of an image. These small changes can guide the viewer’s attention and enhance the emotional resonance of your work. 7) While consistency helps establish a recognizable style, I remain open to growth and change. Allow your experiences and inspirations to shape and evolve your photographic voice.” @colorpro: Watch the tutorial with @mikita.yo to gain insights for your own creative path! 🎨
