On the edge of a melting world 🐧 Photo by: Nina Stavlund @always_an_adventure_inc on #500px Editor’s comment: This frame is deceptively simple—one penguin, one iceberg—but it holds the weight of a global crisis. The scale, the silence, the cold...all reads differently when you know these landscapes are disappearing. Fast. As we approach World Environment Day (June 5) and World Ocean Day (June 8), we’re reflecting on the impact of climate change and the photographers helping us see it more clearly. What role do you think photography plays in climate storytelling? #NatureSpeaks #WorldEnvironmentDay #ClimateCrisis #PolarRegions #PhotoCommunity

Photos by #CanonPhotographer @gunnargunnar: "The Stokksnes beach in Southeast Iceland is a place of unparalleled photographic diversity. Whether you’re here for golden hour, the northern lights, or simply to feel the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the black sands, this location never disappoints. Overlooking it all is the dramatic Vestrahorn mountain — a jagged, cinematic peak that adds an unmistakable backdrop to every shot. The black sand here is perfect for capturing stunning reflections. Shallow tidal pools often form across the beach, creating natural mirrors that amplify the drama of the landscape. All you need are calm wind conditions (which, admittedly, can be rare in notoriously windy Iceland) and a low shooting angle. The key is to get your camera as close to the surface as possible — that’s when the mirror effect really kicks in, turning the scene into something surreal. I usually place my hand beneath the camera to feel the surface of the water before risking any submersion. It really helps, especially when used together with the flip-out screen." 📸 #Canon EOS R5 Lens: RF24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM

"Biel/Bienne is amazing: it's still raw.” A city full of contrasts, captured through the monochrome lens of street photographer @philpenman. More than 350 guests gathered last week at Kino Rex to hear Phil speak about “96 Hours in Biel/Bienne.” – a powerful visual journey through the Swiss city, shaped by early mornings, fleeting encounters, and bold compositions. The atmosphere? Electric. The city? Honest and full of character. The images? A raw, poetic love letter to everyday life. Thank you to everyone who made this evening so special – and to Phil, for turning four days into something unforgettable. 🖼️ Printed in gallery quality by WhiteWall as part of the @bielerfototage, in collaboration with @rebl.space, @leica_camera_schweiz, and @usmmodularfurniture #PhilPenman #BielBienne #Leica #LeicaCamera #LeicaSwitzerland #BielerFototage #Exhibition #WhiteWall #WhiteWall_lab
