Six principles to achieve creative growth and shape your photography journey! With @watchluke / “For me, growth as a creative hasn’t come from following a set of rules, it’s come from getting out there, making mistakes, and letting the world shape how I see. Here are six lessons that have shaped my journey so far: 1) Experimentation is the path to knowledge I’ve always been energetic—and early on, that showed in my photography. I filled every image with bold colors. But everything changed during my first trip to Iceland. Its beautiful landscapes didn’t suit my loud editing style. I felt drawn to something quieter, more atmospheric. That shift sparked a new chapter—one focused on mood and experimentation. 2) Creative evolution comes with environment and experience Iceland opened my eyes. My old saturated edits no longer felt right—the landscape’s quiet beauty called for restraint. It made me slow down and truly listen. Since then, every place I visit teaches me something new. 3) Learning without formal education is valid and powerful I never studied photography formally—I just grabbed my camera and learned on the road. YouTube and creative friends were my teachers. I spent hours editing, experimenting, failing, and figuring things out as I went. It wasn’t structured, but it worked. 4) Style takes time—and phases are part of the journey I’ve gone through many phases. Some came and went quickly, others lasted longer, but each taught me something. Style isn’t a straight path—it’s full of twists. That’s what makes it fun! 5) Editing is about enhancing what’s already there, not fabricating it Now, I focus more on mood than color—enhancing what’s already there with tools like vignettes, dodge and burn, and a bit of cleanup in Photoshop. It’s less about flash and more about intention. 6) Creative self-doubt is universal—but the process is key Some people never feel happy with what they make. But the important thing is enjoying the process. If you love the journey, the content will always speak for itself.” @nomadict: You can read the original article with @watchluke by visiting the link in our bio!

🔵🟢🟡🟠🔴🟣 C O L D P L A Y — MUSIC of the SPHERES Live in Hong Kong, 2025 Coldplay is one of the first bands that I first got connected to international (Brit Rock) music back in the early 2000s while I was still a student. Having the chance to watch them live in my hometown, is emotionally mixed. I was their devoted fan who got instantly addicted to their first 3 albums — ‘Parachutes’, ‘A Rush of Blood to the Head’ & ‘X&Y’, all my good ‘companions’ during my prime years of studying. After ‘Viva La Vida’ & later albums, their slowly delved into new music endeavours and actively sought connection to a wider world with a universal humanistic approach. By those years, my music radar has shifted back to Canto music (& others) & seldom got very excited by new albums from international bands. So our ‘world of spheres’ sort of slowly departed... Well, I guess it’s quite common for us to only stick to our favourite artists’ earlier albums, or, a period of their music that has a special irreplaceable place that denoted our memorable youth (good old/free times). Yet, as we slowly grew up & entered into the adult world, things changed & we changed too. Our music taste might remain or might shift too. Our (once) favourite bands & singers, they have a growing cycle too. The world is not practically a place for everyone to stay the same forever. As time goes by, things will evolve. Some bands continue, some fade, some regroup, some quit. We hang on to some, we lose grip on some. But it doesn’t matter at the end of the day, coz good memory is still good memory. To be honest, I wouldn’t put watching Coldplay concert as my ticked checklist, coz I know my dear memory of Coldplay’s music is already irreplaceable in my heart regardless of any chance of watching them live. Yet (!), a Coldplay concert at my hometown… who would resist that? :) So, it’s still a fantastic night to watch them performing here in Hong Kong. It’s really like checking how an old friend is faring after all those years. It’s still a memorable night to experience the healing power of humanity & love. It really is. Thank you again, Coldplay ❤️ @coldplay #coldplayhongkong
