Beaver dams benefit the entire local ecosystem. From reducing potential flooding to storing more carbon, the benefits are so great that beavers are practically climate heroes—but they’ve long been under threat from humans. Learn more about these semi-aquatic rodents, their habitats, and the dangers they face at the link in bio.

Beavers are trapped and killed wherever they are found in the mid Atlantic. All because of flood insurance concerns and spineless authorities. It’s an ongoing tragedy. Beavers were wiped out of the eastern U.S. before and the authorities would be happy if it happened again. 😢

Grew to love beavers when I grew up in Vermont. We watched them on a pond near our house.

@mihailonaca captures a slower pace of summer at Hala Gąsienicowa, tucked in Poland’s Tatra Mountains, it’s one of the most scenic day hikes in the region and a gateway to alpine trails like Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy. 🇵🇱⛰️ Expect wooden mountain huts, wildflower meadows (best in June–July!), and panoramic views without the Alpine crowds. A perfect base for hikers or anyone craving fresh air and quiet beauty. 🌿🏞️ Have you explored this side of Europe yet?

A true honour speaking with Sir David ahead of World Oceans Day tomorrow. Fascinating to reflect on the wonder of the ocean and the legacy of a man who has dedicated his life to telling its story. A conversation shared about a lifetime of exploration, the urgent challenges facing our seas, and the hope that lies in restoring and protecting them for generations to come. Watch the full conversation on YouTube. Link in bio. Sir David’s latest documentary ‘Ocean with David Attenborough’ is such an important documentary, and a rallying cry for one of our planet’s most precious resources.

Some animals get a bad rap for their looks and habits, like the male proboscis monkey and its fleshy, oversized snout. Other creatures like vultures pick through carcasses, and naked mole rats have a tendency to eat feces. While unusual, these astonishing traits are actually clever survival tricks that are essential for the ecosystem. Find out more about these animal oddballs at the link in bio. #PhotoArk Video by @joelsartore #Underdogs, narrated by @vancityreynolds, premieres Sunday, June 15 at 9/8c on @natgeotv, simulcast on @abc. Streaming next day on @DisneyPlus and @hulu.

Do you think you get enough vitamin D? The answer is probably not—according to most researchers, anyway. Vitamin D is important, as it helps keep your bones strong, assists muscle and immune function, and offers anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. What’s unclear is how we can get more of it, given that overexposure to direct sunlight risks skin cancer, and food typically doesn’t contain much Vitamin D. So, what’s the best way to improve your intake? Head to the link in bio to learn more about the benefits of Vitamin D and how to get more of it, according to experts.
