It is also the color of relaxation (28%), as blue is a passive hue and the most calming of all colors. The fact that blue is considered a color of trust has much to do with its darker shade: navy blue, which is named after the British Royal Navy uniforms. Over time, it became a symbol of loyalty and integrity, widely used in corporate identities. Close to black, navy blue can evoke detachment and melancholy. Think “feeling blue” or “Blue Monday.” Yet it also holds elegance, authority, and quiet power, without black’s dramatic weight. Mysterious, but not sinister. That’s why I chose it to color grade the first image in my series: On the shores of Ruby Beach, Washington, the Pacific was restless under stormy skies. As the beach emptied and clouds thickened, I sent my drone out over the waves. Just then, a break in the sky let light pour through, backlighting a rising wave in soft white. I caught it in that fleeting moment—the curve, the lift, the pause. Later in Lightroom, I leaned into the stillness against the energy. Pulled the shadows down, smoothed the white caps, cleaned the noise with help from AI, not to perfect it, but to align the view with what the message truly is. The monochromatic hues gave the image a minimalistic feel, a rare paradox in nature. It’s everywhere, yet almost invisible. That’s why I chase it. This approach resulted in the dominant colors shown below. I hope they inspire your edits! Wow, this is seriously cool; the ocean is so mesmerizing! Those waves are like living art, always changing and moving. It's such a wonderful feeling to watch the water dance and crash onto the shore. I could spend hours just staring at them, letting my worries wash away. Totally magical vibes!🔥😍🥳🤯
