For thousands of years, sailors and vagabonds have been drawn in and hooked by Marseille’s rebellious undercurrent. Marseille is a port city, constantly in motion; immigration waves from North Africa, Italy and Corsica have shaped much of its modern cultural fabric, and now young people from cities across Europe, lured by a less expensive cost of living and easy access to nature, are coming in droves. Trendy restaurants with talented chefs at the helm are multiplying. Transportation infrastructure is expanding, cultural programs are evolving, and landmarks, such as the Notre-Dame de la Garde, will soon shed their scaffolding to reveal newly restored facades. Beautiful and unique 2600 year old Marseille , it is not for the faint of heart but once you’ve embraced the cultural diversity you are drawn to it again and again ❤️

I adore Marseille! Such a hidden gem with so much culture, history, food, and people to enjoy. I can’t wait to go back, but please keep it quiet so it doesn’t get too crowded - shhh! 🤫 😂

I wish I could have seen this Marseille you talk about. My visit was eventful… and not in the greatest of ways. Looking forward to a second chance, tho!
