The Art of Lompoc 🎨🖼️ When traveling somewhere new, I always try to check out the local art scene for creative inspiration. On my recent trip with @Explore_Lompoc, I discovered why they’re known as the City of Murals in the Valley of Flowers. Lompoc’s roots shine through colorful and historical paintings as you stroll through the streets of downtown. #ExploreLompoc 👆🏼Tap and hold to see the art! Deep in the dense jungles of Belize, archaeologists excavating the ancient Maya city of Caracol have unearthed what they believe to be the 1,700-year-old tomb of a ruler. If confirmed, the discovery would mark the site’s earliest known royal burial, and possibly the resting place of its founding king, Te K’ab Chaak. The tomb contains the skeletal remains of a man and a treasure trove of Maya artifacts, including a rare jade mosaic death mask, ceramics, jewelry, and much more. Find out what we know about the ruler within—and the potential connections the tomb may reveal between the Maya and the Teotihuacanos—at the link in bio. Researchers recently found the tomb under the canopy in an acropolis to the immediate right.

Known to affect the gut microbiome and ward off chronic diseases, anti-inflammatory diets are more popular than ever. Chronic inflammation in the gut can wreak havoc on the entire body—even the brain, where mental health conditions can be triggered. But we can influence inflammation by what we eat—and don't eat. Research has shown that including specific foods in our daily eating habits can help control inflammation while reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and other illnesses. Learn more about what the science says and which foods reduce inflammation at the link in bio. Photograph by Maskot, Getty Images
