Day vs. Night at the Griffith Observatory 🔭 💬 A little life update: I’m heading to Australia tonight for a 10 day tourism trip down under! I’ll be doing Mardi Gras this weekend in Sydney and exploring the south coast of NSW. If you have any recommendations for colorful or beautiful places in those areas, I would love to hear! If you saw my Threads, you might know I’ve been dealing with a numb/tingly arm for over a month now. Finally got my MRI results today and it turns out I have an annular tear as well as several herniated disc bulges in my cervical spine, causing the pinched nerve symptoms. Arthritis and some other issues were discovered as well. I’ve been taking meds + getting physical therapy and will see an orthopedic surgeon when I’m back from this trip. Getting older is no joke! This long neck, 20 years of lifting weights & lots of screen time finally caught up to me. 😅 Stay safe friends. Much love 🫶🏻 #dollyzoom #losangeles #griffithobservatory #photographer #dronevideo

Glad you have a path to healification... hopefully the 15-hour flight doesn't hit too hard. I was fond of the Blue Mountains, but I reckon you've been there before. Have a great trip!

A getaway that doesn’t feel like one.You step in, you breathe, you get lost in the details.A hammock between the pines, a simple but thoughtful dinner, silence broken only by the fire. You close the door. You have everything you need. @blidinjepinery @blidinjepinery @blidinjeskiandnature @visitblidinje #cabinlife #slowtravel #forestretreat #weekendgetaway #cabininthewoods #natureescape #cozycabin #sustainabletravel #offgridliving 📍 Blidinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦

Is this the most versatile travel lens? 🔭 I took @Sonyalpha’s new 28-70mm f/2 G Master lens to Iraq 🇮🇶 to find out, and let’s just say, it delivered! 🔥 #SponsoredbySony In the bustling streets of Baghdad, where every 20 meters someone stops you for a portrait, this lens proved to be the perfect sidekick. We’ve all been in situations when a cool moment unfolds in front of your eyes, only to find out don’t have the right lens on, and in a blink of an eye the moment (e.g. cat) is gone 😿 No more of that! No more frantic lens swaps or missed moments, just smooth zoom versatility from wide scenes to tight shots in seconds. With an f/2 aperture throughout the zoom range, it’s basically a prime that zooms. That sweet spot for low light, creamy depth, and sharp detail, without the need to carry a whole bag of glass. This lens was a game-changer on my Iraq trip, I very much enjoyed going out for the day with only 1 lens 🙌🏼 #SonyAlpha #travel #photography #sony2870mm

Just a few frames I’ve been drawn to lately - some taken five minutes from home, others on the far side of the island. No real theme, just scenes that made me stop. Still a few spots left for next month’s Bali workshop if you’re feeling adventurous - DM me ‘BALI’ and I’ll send over the details! 👨🏾‍🌾🍃

The perfect car for everyday life and outdoor adventures! @subaru_usa #sponsored Even when those adventures require added off-road capabilities and durability in remote areas 😉 Check out the link in my bio to see more about the all-new 2026 Subaru Outback and to sign up for future vehicle updates. These sweet pups are available for adoption by the way! Head to @nycscr and @rescuedogsrocknyc to learn more. Another thing I absolutely love about Subaru is their mission to do good. They have helped more than 504,000 animals get support through adoption, rescue, transport, and veterinary care. And Subaru is the largest corporate donor to the National Parks Foundation, having donated over $82 million to organizations working to conserve our parks 👏🏼

The absolutely epic Reynisdrangar sea stacks in Iceland. Probably my favourite sea stacks I’ve ever photographed. This collection is all taken from the Vik side during winter. Whether stormy, calm, moody or backlit (as it is during winter) they look sooooo good! I share all my knowledge about how to use light in landscape photography in my newly released and third ebook ‘Landscape Light’. It is 251 pages and covers the types of light, the light you can encounter all throughout the day, colour and the impact of post-processing are all themes I cover throughout the ebook. If you struggle with light in landscape photography, this ebook is for you! There is a link in my bio, happy learning 🤓

Moments like this remind me of how I got started in this crazy ocean world. When I first began working in the whale watching industry, I simply could not get enough of being on the water. On my days off, I’d take my small personal boat as far offshore as I dared in hopes of encountering these amazing animals without the confines of a big slow whale watching boat. After countless hours alone on the water with just myself and my favorite animals, I realized this was the way whale watching was meant to be! I remembering thinking to myself that if I ever started a whale watching company, I’d make sure we only used boats that could cover the type of ground necessary to always give our guests the best chance to experience wildlife in its purest form…and ideally away from all of the other tour boats that simply crowd the same animals that are closest to shore for simplicity’s sake. It still amazes me that @gonewhalewatching has grown into the company that it is today: complete with a crew that feels more like family than employees. Our guests know that whale watching isn’t just a job for our team. We all genuinely love these animals and are determined to be ambassadors for them while we are in their home. By using boats that can get away from the crowds, we are able to view wildlife in a setting that is both sustainable and rewarding. There is no better reminder of just how rewarding this approach can be then when two giant 40 ton animals feel comfortable enough to stop by and check out the tiny human(s) that are visiting them in their ocean home. It’s been a spring full of variety, with Humpback, Fin, and Gray Whales all being seen almost daily…and the closer we get to May, the closer we are to the first mighty Blue Whales making their grand entrance! We hope to see you on the water soon!

There is perhaps no institution on earth whose opening has been as wildly anticipated, or as mind-bogglingly delayed, as the Grand Egyptian Museum outside Cairo, where planned openings have come and gone since 2012, Stephen Hiltner writes. “Its construction has been such a fiasco — mired by funding lapses, logistical hurdles, a pandemic, nearby wars, revolutions (yes, plural) — that it begs comparison to that of the pyramids that lie just over a mile away on the Giza Plateau.” When Hiltner visited in mid-February,11 of the 12 main exhibition galleries, the cavernous entrance hall and a broad staircase strewn with dozens of artifacts were open. But the museum’s biggest draw, the Tutankhamen galleries, which will showcase more than 5,000 artifacts from the boy king’s tomb, remained closed, as did a separate annex that will showcase two royal boats discovered near the Great Pyramid in 1954. Those parts of the museum are expected to open on July 3. “You might take that date with a grain or two of salt,” Hiltner writes. At the link in our bio, see more photos inside and read the full essay by @sahiltner
